In my senior level design class, the Art Department asked all the students to design a brochure that they could give out to incoming students to entice them to declare a major offered by the Art Department.
As a class, we took this up as a competition, with each student designing their own interpretation of the brochure. Mine is a 5 panel roll-fold. The front ends up being a poster/banner, with the back giving more practical information about the Art Department. I modified the supplied copy, editing out some extraneous information to keep section lengths consistent.
I chose to work in collage in a long format to show how all the areas of art education are interrelated. After all, Graphic Designers take Painting classes, and Photography majors do spend time in the Sculpture Studio. Even the paragraph text is collaged.
